Instagram Lately...

I wanted to start off by saying that I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and have been enjoying this time with friends and family! My break has been extremely relaxing and definitely productive:)!

If you're following me on Instagram then you've already seen these pics..but here's what I've been up to!

one: My sister and I spent Christmas morning taking snapshots of the family, tree, present, (basically anything in sight) with her new Polaroid camera!

two: I'm definitely sad that Christmas is over but I'm really looking forward to this new year! Wrapping gifts is one of my favorite parts of the season and I loved seeing my friends and family opening their presents!

three: Just because Christmas is over does not mean cold weather is over too. Unfortunately, that is here to stay for a few more months. On the bright side, I can still keep warm in the cozy sweaters that I've been living in.

four: I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I've been wearing the same stack of bracelets for a few weeks now. I love how dainty these gold pieces are - they go with every outfit!

Dec 19, 2014

This time of year is definitely my favorite because of the time I get to spend with my friends and family...not to mention the break from school.

I hope my gift guides made your holiday shopping a bit easier...let me know if you're gifting any of the ideas from my posts! So, with Christmas next week I thought I would share what made my list this year! I've seriously been into gold jewelry so this watch/bracelet combo is a match made in heaven. Also, I've been dying to get my hands on a Jo Malone perfume ever since I smelled them...It's definitely at the top of my list this year.

If you're still stumped on gift ideas...consider gift cards! I love receiving them because they give me the opportunity to pick something out that I really love! I was introduced to the company Raise recently and love the idea of being able to purchase gift cards at a discounted prices and sell unwanted gift cards for cash (we all have that one relative who thinks we still shop at the same store we liked as 10 year olds). For those of you who wait until the last minute...head on over to for an easy gift that your friends/family will love!

B&W Holiday Look

Today I'm so excited to share another holiday look with you! This look is definitely a bit more formal than the one I shared on Monday but I think it's perfect for a formal Christmas dinner or holiday party.

This black skirt has been on repeat lately because it's versatile and comfortable! I love the simple look of the skirt with a white blouse and this one with the contrasting peter pan collar creates such cute look! If you want to make this look a bit more casual, swap out the pumps with a classic pair of flats or loafers.

This winter has definitely been one of trying out a bolder lip! This black/white combo definitely allows for the red lip to stand out and I love the festive vibe it gives! I've mentioned in a few posts that I've been loving my recent additions to my jewelry collection and I want to point out one bracelet that I've been wearing nonstop! The 'criss cross' bracelet from Marlyn Schiff has been featured on a few gift guides as well as posts and Instagram pictures! It's so simple that I can wear it with multiple other pieces but it still adds a touch of glam when worn alone!

What are you wearing to your next Christmas party?

Cozy Holiday Look

With Christmas right around the corner, I've been bundling up in cozy sweaters and layers! For some reason, I've been super into turtlenecks this winter...I'm not too convinced how good they look on me so I love the compromise that this sweater gives (it's not too high, not too low). I loved this fair isle sweater from Gap because it has that holiday feel without creeping into that "ugly Christmas sweater' category.

With a pair of dark/black skinnies and booties, I think this look is perfectly casual for this holiday season! Swap out the jeans for a skirt and the booties for a dressier look! I've been sticking with this stack of bracelets recently because I love how simple they are individually. I scored two from Madewell's cyber Monday sale and one is from a local jewelry designer, Marlyn Schiff!

What is your cozy holiday look?

There's only 17 days until Christmas everyone...let that sink in! That being said, I haven't even made a dent in my Christmas shopping! Hopefully, you are all farther along than I am!

I've put together a gift guide all for the glamorous girl in your life. Whether she's your best friend, sister, or even your mother, these picks will surely made their day on Christmas morning. Added bonus: everything on here would totally make the perfect Instagram pic! I absolutely love the "oui, oui" mannequin and the Kate Spade print!

If you are planning on gifting someone jewelry, this bracelet and necklace would be the perfect option ( I haven't stopped wearing them since I got mine)!  They're from the brand Marlyn Schiff, a brand that has been featured in various magazine, stores, and even celebrities! It's actually a local brand so I was super excited when they contacted me to tell me a little more about the brand!

Bold Lip // Classic Look

So I know it's been a while since my last outfit post...but I'm back and excited to share this one with you!

This look has a certain chicness to it that I absolutely love along with the fact that it is super simple and comfortable. I'm definitely one of those girls that loves an all black outfit because of its simplicity, edginess sophistication. I paired my go-to button down and black skinnies with a coat that I have been obssesed with this winter! I was really drawn to the contrast between the leather and fabric and the hardware all over the jacket.  Black booties, a simple cross-body, and a printed scarf were a must and a bold red lip finished off the look!

What has your go-to outfit been lately?

Gift Guide: under $25

I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving yesterday...hopefully you're all not still stuffed:) Now that Thanksgiving has come and passed, there's no excuse not to have Christmas on our minds!

I've put together another gift guide for you! This time, everything pictured is under $25! Personally, I think these picks are perfect for stocking stuffers! Shop the links below and get a head start on your Christmas shopping.

P.S. One of my favorite things about the Christmas season is giving gifts to the people I love:) While it is definitely nice to recieve presents around this time, giving back is just as satisfying. If you remeber this post, I talked about the brand behind my phone case.  The company has the aim of lifting the financial barrier preventing women in Tanzania from having access to life changing mobile-technologyWith every purchase of this phone case, Kidogo Kidogo buys a phone (or phone credits) to give to a woman who could not otherwise afford it. The phones are then distributed to women through established non-profit partners already working in Tanzania. The cases range from $25-28 and you make donations as well.

Behind the Blog {Patricia Maristch}

Meet Patricia!

She's a blogger...

..and the founder of her own company!

After finding out that I was a local blogger, Patricia emailed me and we started chatting! I had never encountered anyone in my area who knew about my blog, let alone reached out to me about it, so I was extremely excited when I first got Patricia's email! I was even more excited when I got to meet her! Since she's a local, business-saavy fashionista she actually came to speak to my fashion merchandising class about how she got to where she is now! She actually brought up the example of my blog without knowing I was in the class:) After that, we introduced ourselves and laughed at just how small the world really is!

Patricia is the founder of Piqued PR, a public relations firm that caters towards lifestyle brands and boutique businesses. After graduating college, she got to work, putting her experience in retail to use, building her brand into what is now a highly recognized PR firm in the Main Line are and beyond. I truly appreciate the fact that Patricia's personal style is present throughout both her blog and website and is also reflected in the brands she represents. Not to mention she's so young is already building a legacy! I got the oppurtunity to ask her a few question about her daily life, style, and what it's life running her own company (It's definitely a dream job!)

For those of you who are local readers or know of Piqued PR, I would love to hear your comments so feel free to leave them down below!

  • What prompted you to start your own company?
    • I always knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur, I just didn't necessarily realize it would happen while I was so young. I started Piqued PR after freelancing with various clients on the side while working at an agency full time. Gradually I transitioned from freelancing into starting Piqued PR.
  • What's it like being your own boss?
    • Being my own boss is very surreal. It's so satisfying but also a lot of stress, as you're the one solely responsible if anything goes array.
  • Tell us about the idea behind the name of your brand!
    • I like P words so I picked up a thesaurus and started looking for words. I'm piquing editors and consumer interest daily so it made the perfect fit!
  • Do you have a favorite part of your job?
    • My favorite part of owning Piqued PR is working with some of my favorite businesses daily, helping them grow and letting other people discovery their amazing offerings.
  • Your daily schedule looks a little something like...
    • Oh boy, my schedule changes constantly! I usually start the day with a cup of tea looking over social media and blogs from the night before. I then move onto answering emails, writing my to do list, scheduling out my day and delegating to my graphic designer Kelsey and group of interns. I then move onto writing press releases and pitching. Somewhere in between all that I'm planning social media posts, hoping on a conference call, writing blog content and ducking out for meetings. It's a little bit of everything and never truly ends even during evenings or weekends...
  • What is you go-to outfit?
    • I love a sharp patterned blazer paired with James Jeans skinnies, a silk blouse by Trina Turk or Joie and a pair of Kate Spade heels. It's casual but still appropriate for meetings.
  • Do you have any favorite places to shop?
    •  Locally I love Posh Collections in Malvern and Blink in West Chester. I also frequent Bloomingdales, Jcrew and Tuckernuck's website.
  • What is one item that you never leave the house without?
    • My iPhone! It's attached to my hip and my Kate Spade agenda book circa 2008.
  • Favorite social media platform...and why?
    • used to be Twitter because it's so easy to engage but now it's shifting to Instagram as I seem to be using that more. Although I'm guessing next it will be Keep, I'm becoming addicted thanks to Hattan Home!
  • Do you have any advice for others wanting to start their own business?
    • Go for it! My motto, is you can do whatever you want in life, you just have to be willing to put in the work. I think so many people want instant gratification, to be an instant millionaire or have a instant following of 10k fans, it doesn't work like that though. It's not as challenging as you may think to start a business... but making it a successful one takes lots of commitment, late nights and hustling.

Oct 30, 2014

My uniform as of lately has become my favorite pair of distressed  jeans and this incredibly cozy sweater. I consider my style to be simple and feminine so this outfit made me feel so comfortable and  and chic! For a family dinner, I couldn't think of anything simpler than a white button down and my favorite pair of denim! This cable knit has been on heavy rotation and its addition to this outfit kept the look casual and sophisticated!

A bold lip has been a new signature for me this season and this matte lipstick from Nars is my go-to color! A bright pink lip is the perfect way to add color to a look without taking away from the simplicity of your outfit. For accessories, I wore my new pair of Lisi Lerch statement earrings! I've already worn these earrings  a few times and gotten so many compliments on them!
I first heard of Lisi Lerch when I saw the blue tassel earrings all over Instagram feeds and blog posts!   She is actually a client of a local networking group and I was so excited when I was asked to share her product! Do you have any Lisi Lerch pieces?

What has been your uniform recently...let me know in the comments below!

A huge thank you to Piqued PR for my fabulous earrings!

Behind the Blog {The Atelier}

She has some serious talent!

Her blog is so chic and simple!

I need this sationary in my life:)

Happy Monday everyone! I apologize for the complete lack of posts last week! It's been a while since my last "Behind the Blog" post so I'm excited to share with you this interview I did with Melissa, the blogger behind The Atelier! Not only is she a blogger, but she also owns her own online boutique (that goes by the same name) where she sells stationary and accessories...all featuring her artwork! Another fun fact that I found out is that she lives only about 30mins away from me!! I asked her a few questions about her daily life and the inspiration behind her work...enjoy!

1. Your blog and shop is called The Atelier...what is the meaning behind the name and what made you pick that?
  • The word “atelier” means studio or workshop in French (my favorite language). I chose The Atelier because, to me, it’s a beautiful word the represents the fashion, design and creative aspects of my brand.

2. When did you begin illustrating? Did you always dream of selling your work?
  • I’ve always sketched and doodled for fun, but I started illustrating as a hobby about two years ago, and the rest is history! I’ve dreamt of creating and selling my own product line for as long as I can remember – specifically stylish gifts and women’s accessories – so it’s wonderful to be doing what I love and working towards growing my business (and dream!).

3. How would you define your personal style?
  • Classic & effortless, with a twist. I love mixing feminine with masculine, high with low, and classic pieces with statement pieces.

4. Do you think your style has changed since the start of your blog?
  • My style is always evolving, but overall I’ve always kind of had a similar aesthetic. I think what I’ve learned is to simplify, invest in quality pieces, and only wear what I love and what makes me feel like the best version of my self.

5. What is your go-to outfit on a typical day?
  • On a typical fall day you’ll find me in skinny jeans, ankle booties, a jacket or blazer, a big scarf and a slouchy tee. And earrings. Always earrings.

6. If you weren't working as the owner of The Atelier what would you be doing?
  • It would have to be something creative! Like product design or creative direction at a fashion company or design firm.

7. Are there any blogs that you read regularly?
  • Yes! I love reading blogs. My recent favorites are all over the place. Lately I’m loving Ann Street Studio, Meg Biram’s blog, A Cup of Jo, Cheetah is the New Black, and A Piece of Toast.

8. Lastly, do you have any tips that you can share on starting your own business?
  • I actually dedicated an entire blog post to it! (here if you want to link) But to summarize the most important things I’ve learned are to trust your gut and take a deep breath. Nothing happens overnight, it is difficult, and sometimes frustrating, but if you work hard and believe in what you’re doing, great things will happen.

Head on over to Melissa's blog and shop!

Monday Inspiration

Happy Monday everyone...I know it's been a while since my last post but things have been super busy...(thank you senior year/college apps!) I'm going to keep things short and sweet today and leave you with some style inspiration! I've been scouring Pinterest lately for fall trends but I find that I always go back to black! Black on black is definitely one of my go-to looks for fall because of its simplicity and totally makes me feel like a Parisian:) The girls in these pictures are totally rocking this look, especially the leather pants...which I most definitely be sporting this fall/winter.  What's your take on this look..let me know below!

Fall Favorites + R.Riveter Campaign

Fall is definitely my second favorite season, right after summer of course! Who doesn't love the changing of the colors of the leaves and apple cider donuts?  I wore this outfit for a trip to an apple orchard this weekend and it was perfect for the weather we were having!

I recently purchased the lambswool sweater from J.Crew and I love it! It's not too heavy but it's still so comfy and the detailing on the sleeves are a fun touch! The zippers on the side are my favorite part...keep them open with a tank underneath for a fun pop of color or zip them up for a casual look! I  went with my go-to ripped skinnies, booties, and minimal jewelry  for a casual look!

This bag is from a company called R.Riveter, a company that was created by two military wives and  consists of military spouses who are working to provide jobs and a mobile, flexible income to other military spouses. All R.Riveter products are made of materials that have come from the United States or are old military materials such as canvas from duffel bags, wool blankets, and shelter halves. Each bag is handmade by a military spouse, from the dying of the fabrics to the actual assembly of the bag, and comes with a number tag unique to every bag. The story behind this company is truly inspiring and wholly reflects the values and beliefs of Americans!

You can show your support for military spouses around the world - check out R.Riveter's Kickstarter campaign and website

What do you think of this outfit? What's your favorite season?
