Kale & Blueberry Smootie

I was never a huge fan of green smoothies because, well...they tasted too much like veggies! The green color turned me off and the taste wasn't one that I was used to. But, I started trying smoothies that incorporated both fruits, veggies, and something sweet (like peanut butter) and I loved them. I love this smoothie because not only are you getting enough serving of fruits and vegetable for the day, it's naturally sweet and so healthy for you. Don't be afraid of the color of the smoothie...the dark peel of the antioxidant rich blueberries and kale is what causes that. Try it out and I'm sure you will love it!

{Ingredients}
  • 3/4 cups organic (frozen) blueberries
  • 1 cup loose baby kale
  • 1 tbsp organic peanut butter (or any other nut butter)
  • 3/4 cups almond milk (for sweeter smoothie try vanilla almond milk)
  • 1/2 a ripe banana
  • 1/2 cup ice
{Instructions}
Place ingredients in blender and mix until smooth.
