Classics

My uniform as of lately has become my favorite pair of distressed  jeans and this incredibly cozy sweater. I consider my style to be simple and feminine so this outfit made me feel so comfortable and  and chic! For a family dinner, I couldn't think of anything simpler than a white button down and my favorite pair of denim! This cable knit has been on heavy rotation and its addition to this outfit kept the look casual and sophisticated!

A bold lip has been a new signature for me this season and this matte lipstick from Nars is my go-to color! A bright pink lip is the perfect way to add color to a look without taking away from the simplicity of your outfit. For accessories, I wore my new pair of Lisi Lerch statement earrings! I've already worn these earrings  a few times and gotten so many compliments on them!
I first heard of Lisi Lerch when I saw the blue tassel earrings all over Instagram feeds and blog posts!   She is actually a client of a local networking group and I was so excited when I was asked to share her product! Do you have any Lisi Lerch pieces?

What has been your uniform recently...let me know in the comments below!

A huge thank you to Piqued PR for my fabulous earrings!

Behind the Blog {The Atelier}

She has some serious talent!

#needitall

Her blog is so chic and simple!

I need this sationary in my life:)

Happy Monday everyone! I apologize for the complete lack of posts last week! It's been a while since my last "Behind the Blog" post so I'm excited to share with you this interview I did with Melissa, the blogger behind The Atelier! Not only is she a blogger, but she also owns her own online boutique (that goes by the same name) where she sells stationary and accessories...all featuring her artwork! Another fun fact that I found out is that she lives only about 30mins away from me!! I asked her a few questions about her daily life and the inspiration behind her work...enjoy!

1. Your blog and shop is called The Atelier...what is the meaning behind the name and what made you pick that?
  • The word “atelier” means studio or workshop in French (my favorite language). I chose The Atelier because, to me, it’s a beautiful word the represents the fashion, design and creative aspects of my brand.

2. When did you begin illustrating? Did you always dream of selling your work?
  • I’ve always sketched and doodled for fun, but I started illustrating as a hobby about two years ago, and the rest is history! I’ve dreamt of creating and selling my own product line for as long as I can remember – specifically stylish gifts and women’s accessories – so it’s wonderful to be doing what I love and working towards growing my business (and dream!).

3. How would you define your personal style?
  • Classic & effortless, with a twist. I love mixing feminine with masculine, high with low, and classic pieces with statement pieces.

4. Do you think your style has changed since the start of your blog?
  • My style is always evolving, but overall I’ve always kind of had a similar aesthetic. I think what I’ve learned is to simplify, invest in quality pieces, and only wear what I love and what makes me feel like the best version of my self.

5. What is your go-to outfit on a typical day?
  • On a typical fall day you’ll find me in skinny jeans, ankle booties, a jacket or blazer, a big scarf and a slouchy tee. And earrings. Always earrings.

6. If you weren't working as the owner of The Atelier what would you be doing?
  • It would have to be something creative! Like product design or creative direction at a fashion company or design firm.

7. Are there any blogs that you read regularly?
  • Yes! I love reading blogs. My recent favorites are all over the place. Lately I’m loving Ann Street Studio, Meg Biram’s blog, A Cup of Jo, Cheetah is the New Black, and A Piece of Toast.

8. Lastly, do you have any tips that you can share on starting your own business?
  • I actually dedicated an entire blog post to it! (here if you want to link) But to summarize the most important things I’ve learned are to trust your gut and take a deep breath. Nothing happens overnight, it is difficult, and sometimes frustrating, but if you work hard and believe in what you’re doing, great things will happen.

Head on over to Melissa's blog and shop!

Happy Monday everyone...I know it's been a while since my last post but things have been super busy...(thank you senior year/college apps!) I'm going to keep things short and sweet today and leave you with some style inspiration! I've been scouring Pinterest lately for fall trends but I find that I always go back to black! Black on black is definitely one of my go-to looks for fall because of its simplicity and elegance...it totally makes me feel like a Parisian:) The girls in these pictures are totally rocking this look, especially the leather pants...which I most definitely be sporting this fall/winter.  What's your take on this look..let me know below!

P.S. use the code 'jessica' for 20% off your order on Jemult...I've been wearing this bracelet all week!

Fall Favorites + R.Riveter Campaign

Fall is definitely my second favorite season, right after summer of course! Who doesn't love the changing of the colors of the leaves and apple cider donuts?  I wore this outfit for a trip to an apple orchard this weekend and it was perfect for the weather we were having!

I recently purchased the lambswool sweater from J.Crew and I love it! It's not too heavy but it's still so comfy and the detailing on the sleeves are a fun touch! The zippers on the side are my favorite part...keep them open with a tank underneath for a fun pop of color or zip them up for a casual look! I  went with my go-to ripped skinnies, booties, and minimal jewelry  for a casual look!

This bag is from a company called R.Riveter, a company that was created by two military wives and  consists of military spouses who are working to provide jobs and a mobile, flexible income to other military spouses. All R.Riveter products are made of materials that have come from the United States or are old military materials such as canvas from duffel bags, wool blankets, and shelter halves. Each bag is handmade by a military spouse, from the dying of the fabrics to the actual assembly of the bag, and comes with a number tag unique to every bag. The story behind this company is truly inspiring and wholly reflects the values and beliefs of Americans!

You can show your support for military spouses around the world - check out R.Riveter's Kickstarter campaign and website

What do you think of this outfit? What's your favorite season?

UNDENIABLE REPORT

I am so excited about today's post!
Some of you may or may not have heard of the Undeniable Report. You might be a writer, column leader, of you may have heard about it through another blog! Since today is the launch of the site, I
wanted to share a little bit more about it and how I got involved!

The Undeniable Report is 'a lifestyle website created for girls that will be your destination for everything you need or care to know about on topics like style, beauty, wellness, business, travel and more.' Each written by girls ranging from their teens to their twenties, the articles are unique, witty, and genuinely fun to read! Anna Tselevich, the founder and editor in chief (she did my blog makeover), wanted to form a group of talented blogger to create something new and amazing! The Undeniable Report started as an online magazine but has now grown into its own website!

Anna contancted me months ago asking if I wanted to be a part of this growing community and of course I said yes! I am the column leader for the 'Culture' category, where you'll find articles about music, movies, tv, celebrities, diy's, and much more (feel free to check out my article)! I get to work with other talented bloggers and writers in coming up with article ideas, scheduling posts, and making sure the column has new content!

Since the start of the Undeniable Report, I have gotten to know so many amazing girls! Each one, whether she's a writer, editor, column leader, or photographer, is so unique and brings something new to the group! Not to mention, we have a pretty amazing group chat going on:) I am so blessed to be able to work with these amazing girls and I can't wait to see where Undeniable is headed!

Check out the Undeniable Report and leave a comment about what you think!
