Wish-listed: Beauty Edition

Wish-listed: Beauty Edition

1. Fresh 'Sugar Lemon' Fragrance - I stopped into a local makeup boutique and fell in love with this scent! This fragrance is as sweet as it sounds - sugar and lemon - and I'm obsessed with it! I'm thinking about getting the roller ball to try it out! Have you tried Sugar fragrances before?
2. Origins Charcoal Mask - I've had such great experiences with Origins products before so I'm dying to try this one out! Using mask has become one of my newest addictions and since I love anything charcoal/pore related this will definitely be coming home with me next time I hit up Sephora.
3. Glossier Boy Brow - Glossier recently introduced their newest product - the brow gel! From what I've heard so far, everyone has been loving it! I love their Balm Dotcom so this is definitely a must try!
4. Kiehl's Recovery Concentrate - I was recently given a sample of this and just started using it! For someone with fairly oily skin, I've been loving how my skin feels/looks after applying it! However. I'm not sure If I love it enough to pay its $50+ price tag! Have you tried this and do you like it?
5. Bite Beauty Lipstick - I had to stop myself from impulsively buying this over the weekend but now I'm regretting it because you can never have enough pink lipsticks!
6. Bobbi Brown Blush - My favorite Nars blush just shattered (not sure how it happened/if I can fix it) so I experimented with a few and loved the Bobbi Brown ones!
7. Murad Exfoliator - Exfoliating is an essential in your beauty routine but a gentle one is probably the best route to go especially in the winter.
8. Boscia Cleansing Gel - I ended up trying the sample size of this and loved the results! You definitely get a cleaner finish than using makeup removing wipes!
9. Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer - This one is probably at the top of my wishlist! The colder temperatures definitely take a toll on my skin and leave it feeling dryer, so this tinted moisturizer serves dual purposes and keeps skin health and looking a little more polished.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you love them?

Cozy Fall Look

fall look

Top/ Sweater/ Jeans/ Bag/ Booties/ Earrings
I never used to be a fan of turtlenecks but as of recently I've been loving the look! Personally, I like the ones with the less-chunky collars! I somehow ended up on Abercrombie's site the other day and found this turtleneck on sale for only $6! I love the loose fit and the color options they have. Honestly, I was very pleasantly surprised with A&F's pieces - they awesome fall staples that are on major sale right now...like this $4 tee and $6 top!

This cozy look is something that I would wear everyday if I could! Dark jeans, little booties, and a warm cardigan make for the perfect fall outfit!

Shop My Closet

Happy Monday everyone! Its my first full week of classes since fall break and as much as I loved being home and seeing my friends and family, its so great being back at school! Fall is in full effect here in Virginia and my campus looks even prettier (if that's possible) with all the fall colors!

I know I've talked about Poshmark on the blog before but I thought I would share my experience with   the site today (this post is not sponsored!) I made my account last summer when I was cleaning out my closet and ended up with a pile of clothes that I was never going to wear. I started with just a few listing but when I made my first sale I decided to list the rest! Surprisingly, I made a good amount sales I've been hooked on using the site ever since!

I've learned that people are especially drawn to brand name, gently used pieces - so all that J.Crew, Vineyard Vines, old Lilly Pulitzer, or Kate Spade that is just sitting in your closet will be especially popular! I definitely recommend starting a closet because not only are you getting rid of your used pieces, you can also make some extra cash - if you're a college student like me then you know how helpful this can be:)

If you're interested in shopping my closet, you can check it out here! Just mention this blog post in the comments of a listing for a special discount!

Fall Look with Sloane Ranger

This past weekend was family weekend at my university and I couldn't have been happier to my parents and my sister! Unfortunately, due to impending hurricane, it was raining nonstop...but that meant I got to break out my new hunter boots! I got the chance to show my family around campus, introduce them to my new friends, go to dinner with a friend and her family, and explore the city! I have a list of restaurants and cafe's on my phone so we made it a point to try out a few (if you're in the Richmond area let me know what places you love)! Since we decided to opt out of the football game, we actually headed to see The Intern instead (it was so good)! All in all, I would say it was a successful family weekend and I'm so excited to head home on Friday...I just have to get through a few midterms first.

Today's post is in collaboration with Sloane Ranger! I've teamed up with them to host a giveaway for a $250 gift card and two $50 gift cards! If you aren't familiar with the brand, Sloane Ranger is a lifestyle branded with roots in classic British prep style. They offer bags, wristlets, accessories, and more so that you can show off your confident and classic style.

I wore this simple outfit to grab breakfast, see a movie, and spend the day with my family! The Hunter boots and jacket were necessary considering the amount it was raining and my fun striped bag added a touch of prep and class that my outfit was missing!

College Study Tips

  1. Do what works for you! - This one should come naturally but I think sometimes to kind of 'lose yourself' in this sense. At the beginning of the year I started going with my friends to the 'collaborative' study section but I could never focus on my reading or online lectures! So now if now I have a lot to read I'll head up to the quiet section to get my work done! I may not work well in my dorm room but I now some people who can only do work there! So just try out a few different methods and see what works for you!
  2. Take *clear* notes - When you go back to study your notes you're going to wish you would be able to read them. So, in class be sure to write clearly, organized, and if you need to make notes in the margins draw arrows to the sections they correlate with!
  3. Write down *every* assignment - This should come easy to most but it could be something that some students need to focus on. In high school, we had a site where teachers posted every assignment. Well, that doesn't happen in college so it was up to me to keep track of everything. Be sure to write down *everything* (even if you just have to look up one thing) because if a professor wants you to know it then it must be important!
  4. Make a playlist! - I like to play different playlists depending on what I'm doing or studying! I alternate between fun, upbeat songs for when I'm trying to check this off my to-do list and if I have a lot of reading to do I'll usually opt for piano or classical music!
  5. Coffee is not water!  - With a coffee shop right in the middle of my campus library it is so easy to just take a study break (or three) for that refill off ice coffee. But, coffee is not water and drinking more probably won't help you as much as you think it will. We need about 3 Liters of water a day so don't forget to bring a water bottle with you when you study!
  6. Don't forget to take breaks - whether its to fill up your water bottle, get a breath of fresh air, or take a break to get some food, taking a break will help you clear your mind especially if you've been staring at the same book for the last two hours.
  7. Start sooner rather than later -  This one may take a little time to adjust to but it's been working well for me so far! Last year, the extent of my studying was passing through a Quizlet study sheet the night before or even the class before my test! Now, if a test is on the horizon I know I should start studying (whether its just knowing what the test is on) a week before!
  8. Group Study -  I was never one for group projects but group study is definitely a blessing in disguise! We have midterms this week and next since fall break is coming up and I'm planning group study sessions for a few of my classes! When everyone is on the same page, a group study can actually be very productive!
  9. Switch study spots - Spending all day at the same desk in the library can really do a number on you...so switch it up! Maybe do some reading at the coffee shop, or in a friend's room, but don't force yourself to stay camped out in the same place all day!
  10. Get sleep! - I've learned that I don't work well the later it gets, so I try to get as much done as I can during the day so that I can a decent amount of sleep! Maybe you work well burning the midnight oil but I know for me it only makes me less productive!
